 There was once a small potter in a village who was famous for making beautiful clay masks. Some masks smiled. Some looked brave. Some looked powerful. People from nearby villages would come and buy them for festivals and celebrations. One day, a young traveler bought the most beautiful mask in the shop. Before leaving, he asked the potter, "Which mask is your favorite?" The old potter smiled and replied, "None of them." The traveler looked surprised. "But you made them all." The potter gently picked up an unfinished mask lying on his table and said, "These masks are meant to be worn for a celebration... not for a lifetime." A sculptor once spent months carving a magnificent statue from a giant block of marble. Every single day, people watched him strike the stone with his hammer. Again. Again. And again. One afternoon, a young boy who passed by every day finally asked, "Doesn't it hurt you to keep hitting the same stone?" The sculptor smiled. "It hurts my hands every day." The boy looked at the rough block of marble and said, "Then why don't you stop? It would be much easier." The sculptor gently placed his hand on the stone.
