You're not your thoughts - The Garden That Never Grew
You are not your thoughts — you are the one who chooses them.
In a quiet village, there lived two neighbors who decided to grow a small garden together.
One was named Ravi, the other Hari.
They bought seeds, cleaned the soil, watered it once, and waited.
After a few days, nothing grew.
The Hari's Garden
Hari looked at the soil and sighed:
“I watered too much. The seeds must have rotted. This garden will never grow.”
He imagined worms eating the seeds, imagined storms destroying crops, imagined the soil being cursed.
With every fearful thought, he stopped trying.
He didn’t water the soil again.
In his mind, the garden had failed —
before the first leaf could even sprout. So the soil dried up.
The Ravi's Garden
Ravi looked at the same soil and smiled:
“Just wait! This garden will be full of flowers. Beautiful colors, sweet smell — people will admire it!”
He imagined butterflies, imagined praise, imagined selling fruits.
With every happy thought, he assumed success was guaranteed.
He felt no need to water the soil again.
In his mind, the garden had already succeeded —
before the first leaf could even sprout. So the soil dried up.
A Whole Garden Never Grew
One killed the garden with fear.
The other killed it with fantasy.
Not reality. Not weather. Not seeds.
Only thoughts — too negative or too positive — destroyed something real.
Dear Readers,
Our mind does what the two neighbors did:
-
When we imagine the worst, we stop moving out of fear.
-
When we imagine the best too easily, we stop working out of comfort.
Both are illusions.
Both are unrealistic.
Both block growth.
Fear says: “Don't act, disaster is coming.”
Fantasy says: “Don’t act, success is coming anyway.”
Reality says: “Act, because nothing grows without doing.”
We’re Not Our Thoughts
The mind creates stories like:
-
“This relationship will surely fail.”
-
“This business will become a huge success!”
-
“This person is the best thing ever!”
-
“This goal is impossible!”
None of these are reality — they are either fears or fantasies.
Just like the villagers waited for gardens inside their imagination,
we wait inside our thoughts, instead of living life.
The Real Mindset: Realistic Awareness
Not pessimistic
Not blindly optimistic
Realistic
A realistic mind doesn’t fear failure or expect magic.
It wakes up, waters the soil, checks what’s needed, and keeps working.
A realistic approach:
Plans like a pessimist
Attempts like an optimist
Acts according to reality
It sees the facts. It takes responsibility.
It doesn’t worship thoughts — it uses them thoughtfully.
Final Reminder
Fear destroys effort before you try.
Fantasy destroys effort because you don’t try.
Reality grows when awareness leads action.
You are not your thoughts.
You are the awareness that chooses which thought to water.
Choose wisely.
Water reality.

“Powerfully grounded and refreshingly clear, this message offers a perfect balance between awareness and action. It’s practical, honest, and empowering — a reminder that reality isn’t limiting but liberating. The idea of choosing awareness and watering the right thoughts truly resonates. Short, sharp, and inspiring, it encourages intentional action without fear or fantasy. Absolutely loved it.” Thanks
