Do You Think You Deserve More in Life?
One late afternoon, a woman stood at a railway platform, watching trains come and go.
Some trains arrived full — people laughing, luggage stacked, faces glowing with excitement.
Some left nearly empty — silent compartments, tired eyes, unspoken stories.
She sighed and whispered to herself,
“Everyone seems to be moving somewhere… and I’m still here.”
An old man sitting nearby noticed her restlessness.
“Are you waiting for someone?” he asked gently.
She shook her head.
“No… I’m waiting for life to give me more.”
The man smiled, looking at the tracks.
“More of what?”
She paused.
“More happiness. More clarity. More ease.
I feel like I deserve more than this.”
The man picked up a small stone from the ground and placed it in her palm.
“Hold this,” he said.
She did.
Then he placed another stone. And another. And another.
Soon, her hand started trembling.
She looked up, confused.
“Why are you doing this? I can’t hold anymore.”
The man nodded softly.
“Exactly.”
He gently removed the stones one by one.
“Life gives according to capacity — not desire.
When the hand grows stronger, it naturally holds more.”
Before she could respond, a train arrived.
The man stood up, smiled, and disappeared into the crowd.
She remained there, holding only one stone now — but understanding everything.
Dear Readers,
Do you think you deserve more in life?
This is a rhetorical question. Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes the answer is no.
When we are suffering, we often think,
“I don’t deserve this.”
When we are happy, we say,
“I deserve even more.”
But nature does not see life this way.
Nature does not label pain as punishment or pleasure as reward.
Nature sees rhythm.
Just like seasons— summer, rain, winter— there are seasons of joy, sorrow, pain, and ease in our lives.
It is only the human mind that measures life on the scale of deserving.
You Are Not Given Less — Nor More — Than You Can Hold
Here is a truth that is difficult to accept, yet deeply liberating:
You never receive less than what you are capable of facing.
And you never receive more than what you are ready to hold.
What you experience today is not random.
It is connected to your current awareness, choices, and wisdom.
Not wisdom as knowledge — but wisdom as inner capacity.
The capacity to understand. The capacity to respond instead of react.
The capacity to hold responsibility, love, loss, success, or peace.
Life does not test worthiness. Life responds to readiness.
Suffering Is Not a Curse. Pleasure Is Not a Prize.
When suffering comes, it doesn’t mean you are undeserving.
When joy comes, it doesn’t mean you are special.
Both are teachers.
Pain deepens awareness. Pleasure expands capacity.
If we keep asking,
“Why am I not getting more?”
we miss the real question:
“What is this moment trying to teach me?”
Because growth does not come from getting more. Growth comes from becoming wiser.
Becoming More Deserving Means Becoming More Conscious
If you want more peace — grow in emotional wisdom.
If you want deeper love — grow in self-awareness.
If you want abundance — grow in responsibility and clarity.
Life does not withhold. Life prepares.
So instead of asking,
“Do I deserve more?”
Ask:
“How can I grow wiser in this season?”
Because when wisdom expands,
life naturally unfolds more.
Not as a reward — but as a reflection of who you have become
